Myspace and mashup master, Girl Talk, have a special challenge for you. Take these stems from the hottest indie acts around, and in the style of Girl Talk, create your own mashup masterpiece. Here are the guidelines:
• You may only use up to one-minute of each stem
• You can either use only the audio provided, or add your own music to the mashup - it's up to you!
Featured Music For the Mashup Provided By: Metric (Help I'm Alive, Stadium Love), Sleigh Bells (Rachel, Run The Heart), Amanda Palmer (Map of Tasmania), Freelance Whales (Hannah), Family of the Year (Psyche or Like Scope), Gold Motel (Cold Shoulders), Bikini (ACheerlaeder), J.Viewz (Salty Air), Yelle (Que Veux Tu). Check out Girl Talk's Myspace hi-jack to listen to his tracks, see what he is into, win awesome prizes and more!
I used only the stems of the given songs to make this (6 different ones). I mixed up the lyrics of the songs to create new ones, and included a 5-part vocal canon near the end.

Runaway Backseat Tiger:
Help, I'm a runaway spider, runaway spider
a runaway backseat tiger.
Help, I'm a runaway spider, runaway spider
a runaway backseat tiger.
Help, I'm a runaway spider, runaway spider
a runaway backseat tiger.
Help, I'm a runaway spider, runaway spider
a runaway backseat tiger.
I wanna beat you with a hammer.
I wanna beat you with a hammer.
I wanna beat you with a hammer,
You've got urine in your eyes.
I wanna beat you with a hammer.
You've got urine in your eyes.
Paralyzed!
Surprise.
No, no, no
You don't really wanna eat me alive.
Please, please, please
You don't really wanna eat me alive.
No, no, no
You don't really wanna eat me alive.
Please, please, please
You don't really wanna eat me alive.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
You could kiss my ass.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
You could kiss my ass.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
You could kiss my ass.
The only way you could make me stay
is if you give me cash.
You could kiss my ass.
Elevator, matchmaker, player-hater, now and later
Pretty lady, balcony, trumpet solo, melody
Lemon limbs, roots grow, cymbal hit, veins show
I prepared a light show, take a breath and you don't know.

Coming to this band kind of late. This is the third Cardiacs album I have bought and the best: unrelenting punk energy, creative, irreverent, funny, epic, occasionally funky.
One of the only albums that makes me smile ear to ear. It matches my internal monologue so well that bizarrely I find it calming, despite it bring objectively one of the least calming albums you'll ever hear. normalhumanperson
British folk musician Tom Nash built these delicate and moving songs around a broken harmonium, allowing its limitations to open up worlds. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 12, 2021
The London band's new album is a vibrant postcard from southern Italy, boosted by brass, strings, and pizzica percussion from local players. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 14, 2024
