Listen! I hate you. All your friends hate you. I hate you. Everybody hates you. I hate you. All your friends hate you. Oh! God damn you! Everybody hates you. All your friends keep saying they hate me so badly. God dammit baby! I hate them too. They don't understand how I hate you. Why don't you go? You know where you can go. Be the quiet part of my life. Don't talk. I won't let you talk. Think I'll say it again, say it again. I hate you. I hate all your friends. I hate you. I hate the life I live. Everybody says you're beautiful. You wanna be beautiful. You aint beautiful. You're too slow for me. You suck so badly. And I don't even give a damn if you wanna be happy. You make me hate you, don't make me hate you. Actually, I got to. I don't care. God damn you, God damn you! I don't care. No, no! Think I'll say it again, say it again. It can be dangerous to be by yourself. I wanna club you. Actually, you better be with somebody else. I wanna club you.

Original lyrics only (near the end of the song) Eighty one days across the sea a year across the ocean Me lassie she blew a kiss to me a kiss of sweet devotion. A sack 'a loot a drink 'a grog a parrot on me shoulder. Me lassie is waiting for me at the dock and I cannot but wait for to hold her. Up go the sails when the winds are getting stronger Tie up the whores when we get into the port Down go the sails when the bottles are all empty We set 'em on fire and we take all the treasure and kill all the women for sport. Take a drink 'a rum boys Take a drink 'a rum Drink as much as ya want boys Be sure ta save me some Drink until you're dead boys Drink until you're dumb. Yo ho! Yo ho! Drink up all the rum!

about

I entered 36 remix contests between 2009 and 2012 (and one more in 2015). After collecting virtual dust for more than 6 years, 25 of these remixes are now available on 2 albums (arranged in chronological order).
The prospect of using the individual tracks of another artist's song to create whatever music I wanted to create was exhilarating! My usual MO was to keep only the vocal track and to write and record all of the other music myself. This method allowed me to completely change the harmony, rhythm, tempo, instrumentation and genre of the song while keeping the vocal part in tact. This is how a "mall pop" song could transform into hyperactive klezmer or how a Snoop Dogg song could become an epic sea shanty.
Each remix has a story. I've included some of those in the track descriptions.
Thanks for listening!
David M
