This album was pressed when vinyl and cassette were the only options for a band to disseminate their music. It predates Gangster Fun, The Sursiks, The 180 Gs etc. The songs were written and recorded while I was still a teenager. This album will be a collector's item, should I ever make it into the larger public consciousness. Those who enjoy my current musical projects may enjoy hearing the music that started it all; the same way it was heard nearly 40 years ago.

This album was recorded in the basement of a home in a suburb of Detroit by 3 teenagers in 1986. It comprises about 5% of the music they recorded from 1982 to 1989. It is the first of 2 "official" albums by Tritone. A small number of LPs of this album were pressed and even fewer were sold. The other music created at Double Exposure Studios was shared with friends on cassette tapes as recordings were finished. Almost none of this music has seen the light of day for decades.

Coming to this band kind of late. This is the third Cardiacs album I have bought and the best: unrelenting punk energy, creative, irreverent, funny, epic, occasionally funky. One of the only albums that makes me smile ear to ear. It matches my internal monologue so well that bizarrely I find it calming, despite it bring objectively one of the least calming albums you'll ever hear. normalhumanperson

At some point I got a copy of Hazel but not sure where. As a person of advance age, sometimes strong memories present in my brain and I start hunting, digging through boxes figuratively and literally, until I find the thing from my memory.I lucked out when I re-discovered the band and the album.
