This album is an accurate a cappella cover of Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band's 1969 album "Trout Mask Replica". The 180 Gs began working on this project in 2018, only a week after releasing their a cappella cover version of the Residents' "Commercial Album".

Without the help of AI, the Gs painstakingly break each song down to its basic elements and put it back together using only their voices! The result is an album that while completely respecting the original material, warts and all, offers an unexpectedly rich musical journey through this avant-rock masterpiece.

"Trout Mask Replica Replica" (as of April 2023) is still under construction. Each song takes between 1 and 3 months to record. As songs are completed, they will be added to this collection (for subscribers only) until the entire album is finished. Since it is still under construction, many of the songs are not 100% final versions. Final mixes and mastering will be tackled once all songs are recorded. Also, the album cover has not yet been imagined: the picture you see above is a temporary placeholder.
